Project: Apple Education Event
Deliverable Format: Keynote
Client: Apple

Situation
In collaboration with Apple Education and the Account Executive for the New York Market, I led a strategic initiative to pitch the Apple ecosystem to the largest school district on Long Island. The objective was to secure a multi-year contract for a 1-to-1 iPad solution for every student and teacher across five high schools. The challenge was to demonstrate how Apple’s technology could transform classrooms and forge a meaningful relationship with the district’s educators, students, and families.
Task
The primary goal was to craft a compelling pitch that aligned Apple’s offerings with the district’s vision for education. This involved assembling a team, developing a strategy, and delivering a presentation that showcased the Apple ecosystem and highlighted the SAMR (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, Redefinition) education model in a way that resonated with the audience. Success would depend on our ability to demonstrate Apple’s value beyond products and focus on fostering a long-term partnership.
Action
To execute the plan, I collaborated with cross-functional teams of Apple employees, leveraging their expertise in education, technology, and retail. Together, we developed a strategy to align the presentation with the district’s values and needs. I crafted brand and product demonstrations, wrote a presentation script, and designed a visually impactful deck using assets from Apple’s education website.
The presentation began with Apple’s core belief that technology has the power to transform education, emphasizing that our goal was not just to sell products but to build a relationship. To illustrate the SAMR model, I showcased a video of students and faculty at the String Theory Schools successfully integrating iPad devices, inspiring the district to imagine similar possibilities.
Throughout the presentation, I ensured a clear and concise structure by using a simple agenda slide to set expectations and guide the audience. Although software features and benefits were covered, the focus was never solely on products. Instead, we prioritized demonstrating Apple’s commitment to supporting teachers and students. A pivotal moment came when I highlighted the ongoing partnership with nearby Apple Retail Stores, promising support, learning opportunities, and a vibrant community experience for faculty and students alike.
Result
Our collaborative and relationship-focused approach resonated strongly with the principal, faculty, and families. Apple secured a multi-year contract to provide every teacher and student across five high schools with iPad devices and Apple Pencils. This success was a testament to the power of teamwork, strategic storytelling, and Apple’s commitment to transforming education through meaningful partnerships.
