Project: Apple Education Event
Deliverable Format: Keynote
Client: Apple
In partnership with Apple Education and the Account Executive for the New York Market, I put together a team of Apple employees, and developed a strategy to pitch the Apple ecosystem to the largest school district on Long Island. I crafted brand and product demonstrations, wrote a presentation script that highlighted Apple's view of the SAMR education model, designed the presentation based on assets found on www.apple.com/education, and delivered the pitch to the faculty and families at their technology fair. With this deck we successfully won a contract for a 1-to-1 iPad solution for every student and teacher across 5 high schools.
I utilized existing Apple assets to lay out a message that Apple cared about each teacher and students’ success. The presentation opens with Apples core belief that technology has the power to transform the classroom. Beginning with the message was key, we weren't there to just sell products, but to begin a relationship.
To present the potential of the SAMR education model I played a video of how faculty and students utilized iPad devices at the String Theory Schools. This introduced the "what if" — what was possible at in this school district if they adopted a 1-to-1 iPad package.
A simple agenda slide set clear expectations for the rest of the presentation and provided way finding throughout the deck.
Although I presented overviews of software features and benefits in the following slides, this was never meant to be the man focus of the presentation. We kept the information minimal, similar to how it was organized on www.apple.com/education.
What won the principal and faculty over was the piece of the presentation that focus on the future relationship, the partnership with the nearby Apple Retail Stores. Within the following slides I presented the promise that at these location, teachers and students could learn about their Apple products, get Apple support, and have fun!
