Project: Apple Pride 2020 Template
Deliverable Format: Keynote
Client: Apple
With everyone being at home, Apple needed a fun and engaging way to communicate messaging to retail employees far and wide. With the launch of the annual Apple Watch Pride band I found inspiration in the animated Apple Pride illustrations that were provided by Apple as part as their Pride marketing. I designed multiple new illustrations and created a bright, inspirational keynote template that celebrated diversity while still providing retail leaders with the ability to share vision and purpose.
The original illustration found in this press release provided the warm color palette and thin lined flat style that I adapted to an engaging keynote. This time of year is very important to me as diversity, equity, and inclusion are core to my personal values. I wanted to make sure that this project showcased opportunities to appreciate our LGBTQI colleagues, as well as provided opportunities to celebrate alongside them.
I wanted to make sure I captured the fun energy of the original illustration as well, so I created some more flat characters to use throughout the template. They would only be used on slides where participants would engage to tell stories about their pride celebration and experiences.
Prior to starting a meeting, it was suggested that a leader showcases some Apple Pride photos that were taken over the years at the many parades that Apple participates in.
When creating templates at Apple I would prioritize employee recognition slides. Apple prides themselves as an employee first company, so I wanted to make sure these slides stood out , with darker backgrounds, contrasting the rest of the deck. I also utilized some fun elements of Apple software products, such as Memoji and iMessage Tapbacks to celebrate achievements.
